The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing public relations, recruitment and management of volunteers, ensuring clients have easy access to legal services, and fundraising for the Spokane County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program.
The Program Coordinator works closely with the Standing Advisory Committee, the Spokane County Bar Association, volunteer attorneys, and agencies serving low-income individuals, other legal service providers and other individuals or organizations to deliver legal services in the communities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and follows a public relations and marketing plan based upon stakeholder input and research
Writes articles for publications and issues press releases
Manages social media and web page content
Learns and acts upon the emerging legal needs for community members
Develops and maintains relationships with key partners and seeks to create more partnerships
Utilizes legal database to measure outcomes for the program. Assists with dissemination of outcomes to major funders and community-at-large.
Secures funding through donors, fundraising events, grant writing, and major gifts
Assist in the development of legal access curriculum
Recruits and maintains volunteer attorneys for client referrals and clinics
Trains intake and clinic volunteers
Brings forth issues related to existing policies and new programs to the Executive Director
Works with Director of Legal Programs and the Executive Director in a leadership role
Coordinates and assists with the planning and execution of fundraising activities and events
Attends community events, meetings, and trainings
Creates and maintains collateral materials
Maintains contact information and files for all areas of responsibility
Assists in reviewing the annual budget
Applies for internship programs to gain needed staff
Updates forms as needed
Orders supplies as needed
Performs other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum of two years’ experience in public relations, grant writing, and/or fund raising preferred. Prior experience within a non-profit organization is a plus.
Experience working with the public in a service capacity
Ability to speak other languages a plus
Experience working within the legal community is preferred but not necessary
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills a must
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
Capable working in a fast-paced, busy environment
