Position Summary:
The Legal Programs Assistant conducts client intakes, schedules attorneys, coordinates all offices activities, assists judges with status conferences and facilitates all clinics and supports the VLP staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 Provides exemplary customer service to all clients, attorneys, judges and partners
 Assists attorneys with document requests, printing or other administrative duties as needed
 Manages all client billing and reconciling
 Plans and executes clinics for successful completion
 Assists with processing of legal papers for attorneys, tracks attorney hours
 Tracks office supplies
 Performs general clerical duties to include copying, faxing, mailing, and filing
 Assists with planning and execution of logistics including meals for clinics and fundraising events
 Sorts and distributes incoming mail, packages, facsimiles, etc.
 Acts as the point person for all incoming clients
 Assists with form sales and addressing customer needs
 Remains flexible to handle priorities as they arise
 Represent the VLP program to the public

Secondary Responsibilities
 Performs other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
 A minimum of a two year degree is required
 Two years’ experience working in professional office environment required
 Prior experience within a non-profit organization or legal office preferred
 Ability to speak other languages a plus
 Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
 Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
 Must be able to perform multiple tasks in an open office environment
