The Legal Programs Assistant conducts client intakes, schedules attorneys, coordinates all offices activities, assists judges with status conferences and facilitates all clinics and supports the VLP staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides exemplary customer service to all clients, attorneys, judges and partners
Assists attorneys with document requests, printing or other administrative duties as needed
Manages all client billing and reconciling
Plans and executes clinics for successful completion
Assists with processing of legal papers for attorneys, tracks attorney hours
Tracks office supplies
Performs general clerical duties to include copying, faxing, mailing, and filing
Assists with planning and execution of logistics including meals for clinics and fundraising events
Sorts and distributes incoming mail, packages, facsimiles, etc.
Acts as the point person for all incoming clients
Assists with form sales and addressing customer needs
Remains flexible to handle priorities as they arise
Represent the VLP program to the public
Performs other duties as assigned

A minimum of a two year degree is required
Two years’ experience working in professional office environment required
Prior experience within a non-profit organization or legal office preferred
Ability to speak other languages a plus
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
Must be able to perform multiple tasks in an open office environment
